0-60 Organizational and Personal Conflicts of Interest in a Capsule

This 0-60 capsule course will tell you what you need to know about how to recognize Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI’s), how to resolve them (where possible), and how to comply with the requirements of the (relatively) new FAR Personal Conflicts of Interest rules. The first part of the course will analyze the different types of OCIs and look at the applicable regulations and bid protest case law that define the obligations of both government and contractor. The next part of the course will provide practical guidance to government and industry personnel (and counsel who advise and assist them) so that they better identify and resolve OCIs in order to avoid program disruption, make wise business choices, and avoid wasting Bid and Proposal resources on lost causes. The final part of the course will review the obligations that contractors have in order to comply with the FAR Personal Conflict of Interest provisions.
- Recognize the three types of organizational conflicts of interest and why they determine how an OCI can be addressed.
- Identify requirements imposed by current FAR and DFARS regulations and bid protest case law.
- Be able to identify and mitigate potential organizational conflicts of interest.
- Understand the obligations imposed by the Personal Conflict of Interest provisions in the FAR.
